Surgically Facilitated Orthodontic Treatment: Diagnosis, Treatment Implementation, Surgical Techniques, and Orthodontic Management of Complex Malocclusions in Interdisciplinary Care
This intensive 2-day seminar brings together Dr. George Mandelaris and Dr. Ilya Lipkin for an in-depth exploration of Surgically Facilitated Orthodontic Therapy (SFOT) and skeletal expansion via MARPE — approached through an airway- and facially-generated treatment philosophy.
Attendees will develop a working framework for when and how to integrate MARPE and SFOT into complex interdisciplinary cases, covering diagnosis, treatment planning, surgical execution, and full orthodontic management from setup through completion.
A dinner and discussion with the faculty is included on Friday evening, providing an opportunity for extended case review and Q&A in an informal setting.

Dr. George Mandelaris
Dr. Mandelaris attended the University of Michigan from undergraduate through dental school, then completed post-graduate training at the University of Louisville earning a certificate in Periodontology and a Master of Science in Oral Biology.
He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and editor/author of Surgically Facilitated Orthodontic Therapy: An Interdisciplinary Approach (Springer).
Dr. Ilya Lipkin
Dr. Lipkin earned his dental degree at NYU College of Dentistry in 1999 and completed his orthodontic residency in 2001. He began incorporating skeletal expansion in 2011 and has completed close to 1,000 cases to date.
He lectures nationally and internationally on skeletal expansion, airway, and TMD.
